All-purpose Flour(Maida)-1 Cup or 125 Gms

Vanilla Essence-2 Tsp.
Sugar-200 Gms

How To Make Black Forest Cake


Today we will bake this cake in a kadai or on a gas stove, you can follow this same recipe to bake in convection / OTG. Start with adding some salt to a Kadai and spread it to make a layer. This salt can be reused for baking. Store it in an airtight container and use it every time for baking on a gas stove. Place a metal trivet (stand) and cover with a lid. Turn on the flame and let them kadai gets heated over a low flame for at least 10 min.


Meanwhile, Prepare the cake a clean and dry sieve, take 1 cup (125 gm) All-purpose Flour/Maida, Coco powder-4 Tbsp.(1/4 Cup). Instant Coffee powder-1 Tsp., add a pinch of salt. Baking Powder-1 Tsp. Baking Soda-1/2 Tsp. Now sieve all the dry ingredients together and discard and bigger particles. Add Sugar-200 Gms. Mix together and keep aside.


Today we will use the eggs in the cake batter. Take two eggs and whisk it nicely. Add oil-1/4 Cup(4Tbsp)You can also use melted butter, Vanilla Essence-2 tsp. Mix nicely.
Add the wet ingredients mixture into the dry ingredients. Add a little bit of milk to adjust the consistency.


Line a cake tin with butter paper. Alternatively, you can grease the tin with butter and sprinkle Maida. Pour the batter in the cake tin. Tap to remove air bubbles. Carefully place the cake tin on the Stand. Cover with the lid and bake over a medium flame for 30-35 Minutes. For OTG and Convection Ovens, pre-Heat at 200 Degree, and bake for 30-35 minutes.


After 30 minutes remove the lid and check with a skewer/ toothpick. If it comes out clean without any batter, then the cake is done. Remove the cake immediately and let it cool down before removing from the cake tin.


While the cake is cooling down, prepare the cherry syrup. In a Pan take 4 Tbsp. sugar, add 4 Tbsp. water, add-1/2 Cup Cherry. Turn on the flame. Keep stirring until the sugar melts and the cherries become soft.


It will take 10-15 minutes to cook the cherries turn off the flame and let the syrup cool down. Take some dark chocolate and grate it using a peeler or grated or a knife. Keep the Chocolate Shavings in the refrigerator for later use.


Using a sharp knife cut the cake horizontally into two parts. Add cherry syrup on the cake. Add a layer of whipping cream and spread it evenly to cover the cake. Add some more cherry .place the other half of the cake. Put some more cherry syrup on the cake, flow with whipping cream. Place the chocolate shavings on the sides of the cake. Decorate by making swirls with the frosting. Now black Forest cake is ready. Store it inside the freezer for one hour then serve it.
